Wasp's Nest




I found this wasp's nest on the Pink Dogwood tree last fall when all of the leaves fell off of it. I'm always amazed by how strong these nests are, yet so fragile at the same time. Remember, they're made out of paper! And in rainy Vancouver I'm surprised they'd survive at all.

at first when i read the title i was like "oh noeee wasps!!" heh. im glad that no wasps are in the nest! it looks really interesting. i wonder what it looks like on the inside!

It's kind of cool... there's a hole at the bottom, so I can see inside. There are 5 or 6 cells where the larvae were. It's a very beautiful object!
I don't like wasps either though, pesky little buggers...

wow that sounds cool! im always amazed at what animals can do. i mean to think that a couple of wasps could build such a beautiful....and terrifying.....object is awesome. do you plan to do anything with it?

I just have it hanging like it is on the licence plate in my living room. It's art! Ha ha!
