I went out for a walk yesterday, and came home with a new sweater for Henny boy. It was a cold sunny day, and he really needed something to keep warm, and it was on sale! One problem... mats... its a wool sweater, and it fits really well, but its quite loose, so it creates the worst armpit mats you've ever seen. Oh well, you have to suffer for style, right?
I miss it! I haven't been since last January, and I really, really miss it! Warren came twice in the 5 years that we were going, and we made the most of our couple of free days. Shopping, Circle Line tour, walking, walking everywhere! We saw Urinetown the first time around, and Glengarry Glenross the second time. That had Alan Alda, Liev Shriever, Jeffrey Tambor (from Arrested Development) and that other guy from the Dukes of Hazard, (Tom Wopat?)Being a Mamet play, it was a tad wordy... A few years ago, J and I saw The Dinner Party, starring my 2 childhood crushes.... John Ritter and Henry Winkler... that was heaven!
These buildings stand about two blocks away from my apartment, waiting for development. They are the Versatile Shipyards skeletons, and one day they'll be the new part of the Lonsdale Quay Public Market. Can't you just imagine stores and restaurants in this open courtyard shot? I'm really enjoying the buildings in this state though, they have so much soul. I really hope the developers don't screw them up...
This is Henry at Capilano Care Home, where we volunteered for a few months. It was a really great experience, but I'm afarid he didn't take to it quite the way I would have liked. He was always trying to jump off laps, and wasn't very patient about sitting with people and letting them pet him. Basically it just stressed him out. Its a shame, because these people just LOVED him!
Yes, it is true. Henry is her one and only, and she treats him as such. We were waiting to get on the bus, Henry just gets stuffed into the bag, happy as can be.
I don't normally make strict resolutions, but this year I'm going to make a pointed effort to just BE. BE happy with myself, BE grateful for the things I have, and the people (and furry beings) I have in my life. I really do think that being happy is a choice. The power of positive thinking. That and taking vitamins... my other new years res...
as we have not seen much of the sun this winter. Another wind storm last night, another forecast for tonight... Someone's white plastic lawn chair flew off their balcony and shattered (into many small bits) against the building... oh yeah, and it snowed again yesterday. UM, don't we pay the big bucks to NOT live in the snow????
